CBOSS and ZAO “Baikalvestkom” within the shortest amount of time implemented the joint project on upgrade to the next Oracle DBMS release for CBOSSbcc and CBOSSip successfully used by the telecom operator.
The Oracle DBMS release upgrade for operation of the CBOSS products can be classified as a routine project periodically performed in the course of the longstanding business cooperation of the vendor and the telecom operator. CBOSS is guided by the principle of single point responsibility, which also includes the timely upgrade of the system software release ensuring operation of the CBOSS products.
Before the project start ZAO “Baikalvestkom” used Oracle DBMS 10.2 release but its technical support term nearly expired. For the further effective operation of the billing system CBOSSbcc and CBOSSip the vendor upgraded the legacy Oracle DBMS release up to version 11.2. To minimize the impact on the business processes of ZAO ”BVK”, the upgrade procedure was within three steps performed on the test, production and redundancy servers.
Upon results of the project on upgrade of the Oracle DBMS release, Baikalvestkom’s management has sent an appreciation letter which says, “Professionalism and coordinated activity of the CBOSS project team ensure the avoidance of extraordinary situations which may entail the service interruption and may affect the customer care of the Baikalvestkom subscribers.”
The prompt implementation of the standard but a large-scale project once more confirmed the high professionalism of the CBOSS engineers, efficiency of its project team and effectiveness of the used project methodology “1-2-3-4-5”.
