CBOSSnrtrde NRTRDE Support Subsystem

NRTRDE (Near Real Time Roaming Data Exchange) is a new technology purpose-designed to help telecommunications companies decrease revenue losses caused by roaming fraud. GSM Association strongly recommends to extend current roaming contracts by adding a clause concerning NRTRDE support from October 1, 2008. Therefore, starting from this date, it would be more convenient to cooperate with companies supporting this technology. According to Fraud Forum’s opinion, working with a reliable partner using NRTRDE may lead to roaming traffic and revenue increase, which is actually inevitable as:

  • Telecoms will encourage their subscribers to call more while roaming in the networks of partners supporting NRTRDE.
  • Telecoms will allow much more customers to use roaming in the networks of partners supporting NRTRDE.

SYSTEM OPERATION

According to Fraud Forum’s estimates, NRTRDE provides 90% reduction in losses from roaming fraud and saves hundreds of thousands of dollars annually. The new technology is substituting for High Usage Report (HUR), an out-of-date and ineffective technology requiring to send roaming call data to partners not less than once each 4 hours. For comparison, modern GSM Association’s rules set this periodicity to once per 5-15 minutes. Timely received roaming call data can be timely analyzed by roaming partners to detect and eliminate fraud before it could affect revenues.

KEY FEATURES
CBOSSnrtrdeOut – Sender Side:: generation of NRTRDE files

Generation of NRTRDE files

The system automatically processes files from the switch, identifying call detail records for each roaming partner that has agreed to exchange NRTRDE files.

NRTRDE files are then sent to the partners. The sending frequency can be set individually for each partner.

It is possible to filter CDRs by various parameters in accordance with the roaming partnet agreement.

Delivery reports

The system supports notifications of NRTRDE file delivery (NRTRDE file delivery report). The system can also import the delivery failure reports (NRTRDE error report) to the analytical system to analyze the reasons for rejection and re-generation of records with errors.

Statistics

The system supports collection of statistics related to the current system status or executed operations with NRTRDE files.

Scalability

The system supports horizontal scalability.

Independent uninterruptible 24х7 operation

The system is tolerant to the patchset running and can function without access to the database.

CBOSSnrtrdeIn – Receiver Side:: Downloading of NRTRDE files

Downloading of NRTRDE files

The system automatically downloads NRTRDE files, saving the processing results to the database for further analysis and control over the observance of the roaming agreements. The analysis and control are provided by the reporting system

Validation of NRTRDE files

All downloaded NRTRDE files are validated in accordance with TD 35 The validation results in the generation of the NRTRDE file delivery report and NRTRDE error report that are then sent to the partner.

Independent uninterruptible 24х7 operation

The system is tolerant to the patchset running and can function without access to the database.
