CBOSSismsgw is a versatile SMS gateway, which can integrate with the operator’s switch and process all SMS traffic, while boosting SMSC performance and enabling SMS message rating, connection of client applications and SMPP routing. The optional functionality enables CBOSSismsgw to be used as a CDMA/ GSM SMS gateway.


From the switch, an SMS is forwarded to CBOSSismsgw (1) CBOSSismsgw processes the message and attempts to deliver it to the destination mobile or external client application (2), bypassing SMSC. It is also possible to deliver an SMS from the client application to the subscriber.

In case of successful delivery, CBOSSismsgw generates a CDR and notifies the sender of delivery results. If the delivery fails, CBOSSismsgw forwards the message to an SMSC (3), where it is stored and sent to the subscriber once he becomes available (4).

CBOSSismsgw’s open architecture allows integration with third-party billing systems. Online rating is enabled by the Diameter protocol. CBOSSismsgw also integrates with any SMSC via GSM MAP, IS-41 (SS7 stack) and SMPP 3.4.
