CBOSSismsgw Intelligent SMS Gateway

High volume SMS traffic, especially during peak hours, on holidays, etc, is a frequent cause of SMSC downtime, message delivery failures and customer dissatisfaction.

With CBOSS’s CBOSSismsgw Intelligent SMS Gateway, you will be able to tackle all SMSC-related problems.

CBOSSismsgw is a versatile SMS gateway, which can integrate with the operator’s switch and process all SMS traffic, while boosting SMSC performance and enabling SMS message rating, connection of client applications and SMPP routing. The optional functionality enables CBOSSismsgw to be used as a CDMA/ GSM SMS gateway.

SYSTEM OPERATION

From the switch, an SMS is forwarded to CBOSSismsgw (1) CBOSSismsgw processes the message and attempts to deliver it to the destination mobile or external client application (2), bypassing SMSC. It is also possible to deliver an SMS from the client application to the subscriber.

In case of successful delivery, CBOSSismsgw generates a CDR and notifies the sender of delivery results. If the delivery fails, CBOSSismsgw forwards the message to an SMSC (3), where it is stored and sent to the subscriber once he becomes available (4).

  • Lower SMS cost due to direct delivery and minimization of SMSC licensing costs, while 70-80% of messages are delivered at the first attempt
  • Reduced SMSC load resulting in higher QoS and performance
  • Additional revenue due to boosted (as compared to SMSC-mediated messaging) SMS traffic during SMSC peak hours (holidays, customer activity peaks, etc.)
  • Higher performance and fault-tolerance due to horizontal scalability
  • Online message rating preventing prepaid subscriber debt, in cases, where SMSC does not support such functionality
  • Fast SMS delivery, which enables mutually beneficial cooperation with providers of such services as TV votes, TV quizzes, etc. generating massive profit or even superprofit
